How to Play: The objective is to knock down all opposing kubbs on the baseline, and then finally topple the King to win. The Throw-Off: One player from each team throws a baton toward the King. The team whose baton lands closest to (without hitting) the King goes first. Throwing Batons: The starting team stands behind their own baseline and throws two batons, one by one, using an underhand, end-over-end motion. The goal is to knock over as many of the opponent's baseline kubbs as possible. *Note: The starting team only throws 2 batons, then it switches to the opposing team to throw 4 batons, and after it comes back to the team that started, all 6 batons are used for the rest of the game. Clearing the Field: Any kubbs successfully knocked down by the throwing team are "collected" by the opposing team and thrown back onto the first team's side of the field. These become field kubbs. The first team must stand them upright where they land. The "Must-Hit" Rule: On the next turn, a team must knock over all the field kubbs in their playing area before they are legally allowed to target the baseline kubbs. Advantage Line: If a team fails to knock over all the field kubbs, the opposing team can throw their batons from an imaginary "advantage line" drawn from the closest standing field kubb to the center line. Winning the Game: Once a team successfully knocks down all opposing baseline and field kubbs, they earn the right to target the King. This can only be done from behind their original baseline. If a team topples the King before all other kubbs are cleared, they instantly lose the game.
